The Corporal

She may just be an E-4, but CPL Slane takes her job VERY seriously. In case you have trouble reading the Developmental Counseling Form (You may need to zoom in) , it states "SPC Shamsheld, on 18 November 2010,  while attempting to ask the S-3 a question, you addressed CPL Slane with "Hey" in an extremely disrespectful manner. After CPL Slane corrected you by telling you that she was a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), and that you needed to address her as "Corporal Slane" and to stand at parade rest while addressing her, you replied with the statement "Well aren't you just precious?" This is extremely disrespectful and will NOT be tolerated in this Company. In addition, this is a direct violation of Article 91 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, pertaining to insubordinate conduct towards a Warrant Officer, Non-Commissioned Officer, or Petty Officer. This truly reflects poorly not only on yourself, but also..."

  1. What's sad is that I've seen this happen in the Air Force with a fat, little bastard who got promoted to E-6. Once he put that rank on, he started doing all kinds of paperwork on people for any reason at all just so that when he tries to promote again later on, he'll have records of "counseling sessions" he's given.

Long story short, people like that need to take a long walk into a pit of angry camel spiders.

  2. I used to be the same way about CPLs in my unit. And to think I wanted to be one!

  3. Your lack of discipline toward a Non-Commission officer is appalling and a wide spread problem in the Army today. When I was an O/C at JRTC I had three USMC rotations and after each one I wished the Army was as disciplined as the Marine Corps. A Lance Corporal (E-3) would give an order to a Private (E-2) and the Private would say “Yes Lance Corporal” and move out smartly. You even said “She may just be an E-4, but CPL Slane takes her job VERY seriously.” Have you ever stopped and thought that is why she was promoted to the rank of Corporal and is a professional soldier and earned the right to expect a junior soldier to show her the respect of any other NCO. With the rank of Corporal also comes more responsibility, that you are obviously not ready for.
